If you are Canadian you know who Terry Fox is.  He was a man who was stuck by cancer at his peak that required him to have his right leg amputated.  He decided to run across Canada to raise awareness of this horrible disease and as a result become a symbol of the struggle against cancer as well as a national monument and treasure.

"Fight" is my homage to the man, who defied his doctors and his fate and helped usher in the age of awareness of cancer as we understand it today.

If you ask me, our reaction to the "age of terror" has just been insane.  We are becoming conditioned as a society to be scared of everything.  We're told to be afriad to fly, to drive, to be scared of unattended bags, suspicious packages, strangers, anyone different, people with beards, women with burkas.  We've really lost our minds on this.

I can envision a future where -in order for governments to maintain our fear levels- we will be asked to keep on eye out for the terrorists latest play to bring down Western civilization: terror bunnies.  Jihadi rabbits bent on bringing down our governments.

Like many of my political pieces, this isn't for everyone.  But if you want something on your wall that is gauranteed to be a conversation piece -or if you just like rabbits- then this is the piece for you!

One of my favourite poems starts with an ode to a Tiger.  So why not make a painting about one?

"Tiger, Tiger" is a bright, colourful painting framing a tiger's piercing gaze against his orange, black, and white stripes.  By doing so, I get a nice abstract effect, even though it's very clear what the subject matter is.

Pastoral scenes are always beautiful and popular.  To me, having grown up in the city, I rarely get a chance to see an unobstructed view of the sky with just green between me and the clouds.

I was sitting outside one day, and saw a plane fly over head.  It's a sight I've seen a thousand times, but it was only that particular day that it stuck me of what a beautiful sight it is.

I've never been big on automotive or transportation artwork, but this was a lot of fun to do, and it's a piece that I think a lot of people will connect to.  It's both expressionist and abstract, subtle in it's colours but still has impact.

This election season has been insane.  We have seen the rise of right wing extremism, and the creation of a unique political movement in America called the Tea Party.  These supposed conservatives seem to only have two things in common: The don't like President Barak Obama, and they don't like government.

Their policies are laughable, their solutions are non-existent, but their influence on this year's American mid-terms is total.

This piece is about how I see the Tea Party: as a used, disgusting tea bag devoid of all flavour.

And why the French title?  Simple: because for years American's have bashed the French, and it just seemed fitting to juxtapose the image with the title.

Hands down, Pierre Elliott Trudeau is the greatest Prime Minister Canada ever had.  He was brash, loud, arrogant, a visionary, a rebel, an icon.  He was bigger than life.  We haven't had anyone like him in politics since then.

I've wanted to make a portrait of him for ages, and recently I had a chance to do so.  He's an inspiration to me, and to generations of Canadians.
